If you are driving from the main park entrance at Front Royal, VA, take Skyline Drive south. Continue along Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Park. After approximately 38 miles, look for the sign for Rapidan Camp near mile marker 51. Turn right onto the dirt road leading to the camp. Note that the road can be rough, so proceed with caution. There is no entrance fee for the camp itself, but you may need to pay a parking fee at designated areas along Skyline Drive.

Public transportation options to Rapidan Camp are limited. The nearest bus station is in Luray, VA. From there, you would need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the park entrance. Once inside Shenandoah National Park, you can follow the directions for driving as mentioned above. Be aware that rideshare services may not operate frequently in this region, so plan accordingly.
