Car
If you're driving along Skyline Drive, South River Overlook is located at Mile Marker 62.5. To reach it, continue on Skyline Drive from either direction. If you're coming from the northern end of Skyline Drive, drive south until you reach Mile Marker 62.5. If you're coming from the southern end, drive north. The overlook will be on your right, and there is a designated parking area. Look for the sign marking South River Overlook.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options directly to South River Overlook are limited. The nearest public transportation access is in Luray, Virginia. From Luray, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the entrance of Shenandoah National Park. Once inside the park, you will need to drive or arrange for a taxi/rideshare to take you to South River Overlook. Note that there is an entrance fee for Shenandoah National Park, which is $30 per vehicle (valid for 7 days).
