Depending on where you are starting from, follow local roads to reach the nearest entrance to I-81. Once on I-81 N, continue for approximately 15 miles. Take exit 143 for US-220 S toward Roanoke. Merge onto US-220 S and follow it for about 5 miles. Take the exit for I-581 N toward Roanoke. After approximately 3 miles, take exit 3A for US-460 E toward Lynchburg. Continue on US-460 E for about 2 miles, then take the exit for US-11 S/Patterson Ave SW. Turn right onto Patterson Ave SW, and the Historic James Scott Browning House will be on your right at 1501 Patterson Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
