Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the historic area of Williamsburg, start at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center, head east on Visitor Center Drive until you reach the intersection with South Henry Street. Turn left onto South Henry Street and continue walking straight. You will see the entrance to the Historic Area. Enter the Historic Area and follow the main pathway. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Duke of Gloucester Street. Turn right onto Duke of Gloucester Street. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with South Nassau Street. The Thomas Jefferson Statue is located on the left side in the courtyard of the Capitol building, at approximately 37.2700508 latitude and -76.7113012 longitude.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop near the Visitor Center. Start at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, and head east on Visitor Center Drive. Once you reach South Henry Street, turn left and follow the bike path that runs along the street. Continue straight to enter the Historic Area, following the bike-friendly routes. Navigate through the Historic Area on the designated bike paths until you reach Duke of Gloucester Street. Turn right and bike straight until you reach South Nassau Street. The Thomas Jefferson Statue will be on your left in the courtyard of the Capitol building.

  If you prefer public transport, check the local bus schedule for the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA). Board a bus heading towards the downtown area. Get off at the stop near the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. From the Visitor Center, follow the walking directions above, heading east on Visitor Center Drive, turning left onto South Henry Street, entering the Historic Area, and proceeding to Duke of Gloucester Street. The statue is located in the courtyard of the Capitol building.
