Bus
To get to Cultus Lake from central Bellingham, start by walking to the Bellingham Bay bus terminal located at 401 Harris Ave. Once there, catch the 'Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) Route 70' bus towards Lynden. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Lynden City Hall' stop. From there, transfer to the 'WTA Route 1' bus heading towards 'Sumas' and ride it until you reach the 'Cultus Lake Park' stop. You will be just a short walk from the lake. Follow the signs to Cultus Lake.

Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in downtown Bellingham. Head west on Holly Street until you reach the intersection with State Street. Turn left onto State Street and follow it as it becomes Northwest Avenue. Continue until you reach the intersection with Yew Street. Turn right onto Yew Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with the Mt. Baker Highway (Highway 542). Follow the highway east, which will take you towards Cultus Lake. Please be cautious as this route has sections without bike lanes.

While walking all the way to Cultus Lake isn't practical, you can take a bus or bike to the nearby area and then enjoy a walk around the lake. From Bellingham, take the bus as previously described or a bike to Cultus Lake Park. Once you arrive at Cultus Lake Park, you can walk along the scenic paths around the lake, enjoying the beautiful views and surroundings.
