Getting There

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From downtown Bellingham, walk to the Bellingham Station at 401 Harris Ave. Catch the WTA bus route 105 (Lake Whatcom) heading towards Lake Whatcom Park. The bus will take you along North Shore Drive. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop nearest to 3220 N Shore Rd, which is the designated stop for Lake Whatcom Park. After exiting the bus, follow the path leading into the park.

    If you have a bicycle, start in downtown Bellingham. Head east on Holly St and take a left onto North State St. Continue on North State St until you reach Lakeway Dr. Turn right on Lakeway Dr, and then take a left onto North Shore Rd. Follow North Shore Rd for about 3 miles until you reach Lake Whatcom Park at 3220 N Shore Rd. There are bike paths along much of this route, making it a scenic and safe ride.

    If you prefer to walk, start from downtown Bellingham and head north on Cornwall Ave. Continue straight onto the pedestrian path along the waterfront, enjoying scenic views. After about 1.5 miles, turn right onto Lakeway Dr. Walk along Lakeway Dr, then turn left onto North Shore Rd. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles until you arrive at Lake Whatcom Park at 3220 N Shore Rd. The walk is approximately 3.5 miles one-way and will take about 1.5 hours.
