Bus
To reach Lake Washington, start by walking to the nearest bus stop. Depending on your location in Federal Way, you can take either the Sound Transit Route 586 or Pierce Transit Route 1. If you're in downtown Federal Way, head to the Federal Way Transit Center. From there, board Route 586 and travel towards Seattle. Get off at the Kent Station, and transfer to Route 180 towards Lake Morton. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at Lake Washington, where you'll be just a short walk away from the lakeshore.
Walking
If you're staying in a nearby hotel or area close to Lake Washington, consider walking. From the city center, head north on 1st Avenue S, then turn left onto S 320th Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Pacific Highway S. Cross the highway and follow the signs leading to Lake Washington. The lake is a scenic walk away, and you can enjoy the views as you approach your destination.
Bicycle
For those looking to bike, Federal Way has several bike-friendly paths. Rent a bike from a local shop and head towards the BPA Trail which connects to other bike paths in the city. Follow the trail north towards Lake Washington. It's a leisurely ride and will take you through some beautiful parks along the way. Once you get closer to the lake, follow the signs directing you to the lakeshore where you can park your bike and enjoy the scenery.
