Public Transit
From the center of Kirkland, head to the nearest bus stop for King County Metro routes. You can catch the Metro Bus 255 towards the Overlake Transit Center. After approximately 15-20 minutes, get off at the NE 51st St & 148th Ave NE stop. Transfer to Bus 542 towards Redmond Transit Center. Ride for about 10-15 minutes and disembark at the Redmond Transit Center. From there, you can walk to Marymoor Park where the windmill is located. It's about a 25-minute walk. Head east on NE 85th St, then turn left onto 148th Ave NE. Continue straight until you reach Marymoor Park.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in Kirkland. Start your journey on the Kirkland waterfront trail heading north. Follow the trail as it connects to the Eastside Rail Corridor Trail. This trail will lead you directly to Redmond. Keep following the trail until you reach Marymoor Park. The entire bike ride should take around 30-40 minutes depending on your speed.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, you can take a scenic route through downtown Kirkland. Start at Kirkland Marina Park and walk along Lake Washington Boulevard heading east. Continue on this path until you reach the intersection with NE 85th St. Turn left onto NE 85th St and follow it until you reach 148th Ave NE. Turn right and keep walking until you arrive at Marymoor Park. This walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
