From Kirkland, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located at 3rd St & Kirkland Ave. Take the Metro Bus Route 238 towards the Eastgate Park and Ride. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the stop at 2nd Ave & James St in Seattle. From there, walk south on 2nd Ave for about 5 minutes until you reach Smith Tower at 506 2nd Ave.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Start from Kirkland City Park and head south on the Kirkland waterfront trail towards Seattle.
