Public Transit
From Kirkland, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Metro bus 255 at the Kirkland Transit Center (located at 10611 108th Ave NE). Take the bus towards Seattle, and enjoy the scenic ride. Get off at the stop at 3rd Ave & Pine St (about a 30-minute ride). From there, walk west on Pine St until you reach 1st Ave. Turn left on 1st Ave and walk south until you reach Western Ave. Victor Steinbrueck Park will be on your left at 1999 Western Ave.
Walking
If you are near downtown Kirkland, you can walk to Victor Steinbrueck Park, although it is quite a distance (approximately 6 miles). Start by heading southwest on Kirkland Ave toward Lake St. Continue on Lake St to the waterfront. Follow the waterfront path south until you reach the Kirkland Marina Park. From there, you can follow the shoreline path. Eventually, you will reach the Seattle ferry terminal area. Continue walking south past the ferry terminal along Alaskan Way until you reach Western Ave. Victor Steinbrueck Park will be on your left at 1999 Western Ave.
Bicycle
For cyclists, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Kirkland. Start your ride from the Kirkland waterfront, heading south along the scenic Lake Washington Loop Trail. Follow the bike trail that leads you through the parks and along the waterfront. As you approach Seattle, the trail will take you to Alaskan Way, where you can continue riding south. Once you reach Western Ave, you will find Victor Steinbrueck Park at 1999 Western Ave.
