Car
If you are driving, start by heading east on WA-542 E from Deming, WA. Continue for approximately 22 miles until you reach the Mt. Baker Ski Area. From there, you can access the Mount Baker Wilderness. There is no entrance fee for the wilderness area itself, but be aware that parking at ski area locations may incur a fee during peak seasons.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the Greyhound bus to Bellingham, WA. From Bellingham, you can catch the Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) bus route 27, which operates services to Deming. From Deming, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to the Mount Baker Wilderness area, as public transport does not reach the wilderness directly. Expect to pay for both the Greyhound and WTA tickets, and have additional funds ready for the taxi or rideshare service.

Hiking
If you are already in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and wish to hike into the Mount Baker Wilderness, find a trailhead such as the Skyline Divide Trail. The trailhead is located off of Glacier Creek Road. Be sure to carry a map and enough supplies for a day hike, as the trails can be remote and challenging. There are no additional costs once you are on the trails, but a Northwest Forest Pass may be required for parking at trailheads.
