Getting There

  • Car

    From Mount Baker, head southeast on WA-542 E for approximately 10 miles. You'll pass through the scenic Mount Baker Highway, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Continue on WA-542 E until you reach the intersection with Mt. Baker Highway. Take a left onto Mt. Baker Highway and follow it for about 7 miles. The Mt Baker National Recreation Area is located at the end of the highway, near the town of Deming, WA. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the recreation area.

    If you are using public transportation, take the Whatcom Transportation Authority (WTA) bus route 70 from Bellingham. The bus will take you to Glacier, which is the nearest stop to Mt Baker.
