Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving to Discovery Park from anywhere in Olympic National Park, head east on US-101. Follow the signs towards Port Angeles. After approximately 40 miles, take the exit for WA-304 S towards Bremerton. Continue on WA-304 S for about 12 miles, then merge onto I-5 S. After about 15 miles, take exit 167 for Mercer St toward Seattle Center. Continue on Mercer St and follow signs for Seattle Center. From Mercer St, turn left onto 5th Ave N, then right onto Broad St. Follow Broad St, which will turn into Elliott Ave W. Finally, turn left onto W Government Way, which leads directly into Discovery Park. Note that parking may incur a fee of around $10.

    For those using public transportation, start at the nearest bus stop in Olympic National Park and take a bus to Port Angeles. From Port Angeles, transfer to the Clallam Transit bus #30 towards Seattle. After approximately 1.5 hours, get off at the Seattle Central bus station. From there, board the King County Metro bus #29 towards Discovery Park. The bus will take you directly to the park entrance.
