Getting There

Bus
From Redmond, head to the nearest bus stop at Redmond Transit Center, located at 16100 NE 83rd St. Take the Metro Bus Route 542 towards Seattle. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the stop at 3rd Ave & University St. Once you get off, walk 2 blocks south on 3rd Ave until you reach 1st Ave. Turn left on 1st Ave, and the Seattle Art Museum will be on your right at 1300 1st Ave.

Light Rail
From Redmond, take the Metro Bus Route 542 to the nearest light rail station, University of Washington Station (approx. 30-40 minutes). Once there, transfer to the Link Light Rail and head towards Westlake Station. After about 20 minutes, get off at Westlake Station. From Westlake, walk 4 blocks south on 4th Ave to Pike St, then turn left on Pike St and walk 2 blocks to 1st Ave. Turn right on 1st Ave, and you'll find the Seattle Art Museum at 1300 1st Ave.

If you are in downtown Redmond, you can enjoy a pleasant walk to the Seattle Art Museum. Head towards Redmond Town Center, and from there, walk along NE 74th St toward Avondale Rd. Continue south on Avondale Rd for about 2 miles until you reach the bus stop at 161st Ave NE. From there, you can catch Metro Bus Route 542 to downtown Seattle. After reaching downtown, follow the bus guidance above to get to the museum.
