Car
If you're traveling by car, start by getting onto WA-90 E from your location in The Blue Mountains. Continue on WA-90 E for about 25 miles until you reach Exit 80 for WA-970 N toward Cle Elum. Merge onto WA-970 N and drive for about 14 miles. Turn left onto WA-903 N and continue for approximately 8 miles. You will then reach the junction with US-2 E. Turn right onto US-2 E, and after about 20 miles, look for Blue Mountain indicated on the signs. The parking area is available near the base of the mountain.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, start by taking a bus from The Blue Mountains to the nearest city with transit services, such as Ellensburg. From Ellensburg, you can catch a regional bus that heads towards Cle Elum. Once in Cle Elum, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Blue Mountain, as public transportation does not extend directly to the mountain. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.
Hiking or Walking
If you are close to the base of Blue Mountain and prefer to hike, there are several trails that lead up to the peak. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and check the trail maps available at local visitor centers or online. Walking from nearby parking areas can take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your starting point and chosen trail. Be aware of trail conditions and always inform someone about your hiking plans.
