Car
From any location in The Blue Mountains, head towards US-12 E. If you're starting from the city of Walla Walla, take I-82 N and merge onto US-12 E towards Naches. Continue on US-12 E for approximately 70 miles until you reach the junction with WA-410. Turn left onto WA-410 N. After about 30 miles, you will arrive at Chinook Pass. Remember to check for road conditions, especially in winter months, as the pass may be closed due to snow.
Public Transportation
If you're relying on public transportation, first take a Greyhound or similar bus from Walla Walla to Yakima. Once in Yakima, you'll need to transfer to a local bus service that operates towards Mount Rainier National Park, where Chinook Pass is located. Check the local bus schedules, as they may not run frequently. After reaching the nearest stop to Chinook Pass, be prepared for a short hike or a taxi service to cover the remaining distance to the pass, as public transport may not take you directly there.
Rideshare
Consider using rideshare services like Uber or Lyft from a nearby city such as Yakima. This can be a convenient option if you are traveling alone or in a small group. Request a ride to Chinook Pass, and the driver will navigate to the exact location. Be aware of potential surge pricing, especially during peak tourist seasons.
