Getting There

• Car

  From Okanogan, head south on US-97 S. Follow US-97 S for approximately 30 miles until you reach the junction with WA-20. Take the exit for WA-20 E toward Twisp. Continue on WA-20 E for about 24 miles. As you approach Mazama, look for signs indicating the Washington Pass Observation Site. The observation site is located at the Washington Pass Summit, approximately 10 miles past Mazama on WA-20. There is no entrance fee, but parking is available at the site.

• Public Transportation

  If you are taking public transportation, you can catch a bus from Okanogan to Twisp, which is operated by the Okanogan County Transit Authority. Once in Twisp, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Washington Pass Observation Site, as public transportation does not go directly to the site. • Biking

  For the more adventurous, consider biking from the town of Mazama. Start at Mazama and take the scenic route along WA-20 E. The distance is approximately 10 miles to the Washington Pass Observation Site, which is a beautiful ride but can be challenging due to elevation. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow road safety guidelines. There is no cost for biking, but ensure your bike is in good condition for the trip.
