Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from downtown Seattle, take WA-99 N (Aurora Ave N) towards Ballard. Continue on WA-99 N for about 6 miles. Merge onto WA-520 W and then take the exit for Montlake Blvd. Follow the signs for the Arboretum and then take Lake Washington Blvd. W. Continue until you reach the West Point Lighthouse. There is limited parking available near the lighthouse, so plan accordingly.

  • Public Transportation

    From downtown Seattle, take the Metro bus route 29 towards Magnolia. Get off at the 'Magnolia Village' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to the West Point Lighthouse. Head west towards the water, following the signs for Discovery Park. Once inside Discovery Park, follow the main walking paths that lead to the lighthouse. Be prepared for some hills and uneven terrain.

    If you are already in Discovery Park, the West Point Lighthouse is about a 1-mile walk from the visitor center. Follow the main trail west through the park, which may include some steep and uneven paths. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be rugged.
