From downtown Yakima, walk to the Yakima Transit Center located at 111 N 4th Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. Take bus route 1, heading towards the West Valley. Stay on the bus for about 20 minutes. Get off at the stop near 904 University Pkwy, Yakima, WA 98907. From there, you can walk the short distance to Yakima Sportsman State Park. The park is located about 0.3 miles from the bus stop.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from downtown Yakima and head south on N 1st St. Continue onto S 1st St until you reach University Pkwy. Turn right onto University Pkwy and follow it for about 1.5 miles. Yakima Sportsman State Park will be on your left at 904 University Pkwy. This route is relatively flat and offers a scenic ride.

For those who prefer to walk, start from the Yakima Convention Center at 10 N 8th St, Yakima, WA 98901. Head east towards N 8th Ave, then turn left onto N 8th Ave. Continue until you reach E Yakima Ave and turn right. Follow E Yakima Ave for about 1 mile, then turn left onto S 1st St. Continue until you reach University Pkwy, then turn right. Yakima Sportsman State Park will be on your left at 904 University Pkwy. This walk is approximately 2 miles and offers various views of the city.
