From Coopers Rock State Forest, start by heading southeast on the Coopers Rock Road (Route 43) toward I-68. After approximately 4 miles, merge onto I-68 East via the ramp to Cumberland. Continue on I-68 for about 25 miles. Take exit 14 for Route 219 South toward Oakland. After exiting, turn right onto Route 219 South and follow for about 5 miles. Turn left onto Maple Glade Road, and Swallow Falls State Park will be on your right at 2470 Maple Glade Rd, Oakland, MD 21550. Note that parking fees may apply.

If you are using public transportation, you will first need to get to the nearest bus station in Morgantown. From Coopers Rock State Forest, it's advisable to arrange a ride to Morgantown. Once in Morgantown, take the bus to the nearest stop for Oakland, MD, which may require a transfer depending on the schedule. After arriving in Oakland, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to get to Swallow Falls State Park. Be aware that public transit may have limited schedules, so check the latest routes and timings ahead of your visit.

For the adventure-seekers, biking from Coopers Rock State Forest to Swallow Falls State Park is an option. Start by heading southeast on Coopers Rock Road (Route 43) for about 4 miles until you reach I-68. Carefully navigate to the I-68 East bike lane and continue for approximately 25 miles. Exit onto Route 219 South and follow it for about 5 miles. Turn left onto Maple Glade Road, and the park entrance will be on your right. Ensure you have proper biking gear and a map, as the route includes busy highways.
