Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Harpers Ferry Visitor Center located at 171 Shoreline Drive, head southeast on Shoreline Drive. After about 0.2 miles, you will reach the intersection with High Street. Turn right onto High Street. Continue walking on High Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Potomac Street. Turn left onto Potomac Street and walk for another 0.2 miles. Arsenal Square will be on your right, just after you pass the intersection with Philip Street. Look for the historical markers and the open area that makes up Arsenal Square.

    If you are starting from the Lower Town area of Harpers Ferry, walk towards the main street, which is Potomac Street. Head northeast on Potomac Street for about 0.5 miles. As you walk, you will pass several shops and historical sites. Arsenal Square will be on your left before you reach the intersection with High Street. You’ll recognize the area by the park-like setting and the historical signage.

    From the Harpers Ferry Train Station, exit the station and walk southwest towards Potomac Street. Once you reach Potomac Street, turn left and walk for about 0.4 miles.
