Walking
From the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center, head southwest on Washington Street towards the intersection with High Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Potomac Street. Turn left onto Potomac Street and follow it as it curves along the river. After about 0.5 miles, you will come to the footbridge leading to the C&O Canal Towpath. Cross the bridge and follow the Towpath heading south for about 2 miles. As you approach the town of Brunswick, look for the signs directing you to the nearest public transportation options that can take you towards Ashburn. Alternatively, you can book a rideshare service or inquire at local establishments for shuttle options to Ashburn Park.
Public Transportation
From the Harper's Ferry Train Station, take a MARC Train heading towards Washington, D.C. Get off at the Brunswick station. From there, you can catch a Loudoun County Connector bus (Route 87) towards Ashburn, which will take you closer to Ashburn Park. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as routes may vary, and confirm the stop at Partlow Road, which is a short walk from the park.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, start at the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center and head down to the C&O Canal Towpath. Once on the Towpath, cycle south for about 2 miles until you reach the junction with the Loudoun County bike trail that leads towards Ashburn. Follow the bike trail, which will guide you directly to Ashburn Park. This route offers scenic views of the Potomac River, making for a pleasant ride.
