Walking
From the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center, head southeast on Shenandoah Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 340. Turn left onto Route 340 and walk for approximately 1 mile. You will see signs for the Appalachian Trail. Follow the trail markers and head towards the Frederick Municipal Forest, which is located just off the main road.

Public Transport
Begin at the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center and walk to the nearest bus stop located on the corner of Potomac Street and High Street. Take the MTA 505 bus towards Frederick. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Frederick bus terminal, then transfer to the local bus service (Frederick Transit) that goes to the Frederick Municipal Forest. The bus will drop you off close to the park entrance.

If you have access to a bike, rent one from a local shop in Harper's Ferry. Start at the Harper's Ferry National Historical Park entrance and follow the bike path along the Potomac River.
