Walking
From the Harper's Ferry Visitor Center, head southwest on Potomac Street toward Shenandoah Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 340. Cross the street carefully at the crosswalk. Once across, turn left and follow the sidewalk along Route 340 for approximately 1 mile. Look for signs indicating the path to the C&O Canal Towpath. Follow the Towpath north for about 3 miles until you reach the area near the intersection of Hamburg Road and Route 15. The Three Saws Trailhead will be on your left, just off Hamburg Road.
Public Transport
From Harper's Ferry, take the MARC train from the Harper's Ferry station to the Frederick station, which typically takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Frederick station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop located right outside. Take the local bus (Frederick Transit) that heads towards Route 15. Confirm with the bus driver that the route goes towards Hamburg Road. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the stop closest to Hamburg Road. From there, you can walk the remaining distance to the Three Saws Trailhead, which should be around a 10-15 minute walk.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Harper's Ferry. Start from the Visitor Center and ride along the C&O Canal Towpath. Continue along the towpath for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection of Hamburg Road and Route 15. As you approach, look for the sign for the Three Saws Trailhead, which will be just off Hamburg Road on your left. The ride is mostly flat along the towpath, making it a pleasant journey.
