Getting There

• Car

  From Chippewa Valley, head east on Highway 29. Continue on Highway 29 for approximately 23 miles until you reach the exit for Highway 64. Take the exit and turn left onto Highway 64. Continue for about 4 miles until you reach the intersection with 255th St. Turn left onto 255th St, and follow it until you reach Brunet Island State Park, located at 23125 255th St, Cornell, WI 54732. There is no admission fee for the park, but be aware of potential parking fees during peak seasons.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, public transportation options directly to Brunet Island State Park may be limited. You can take a Greyhound or Megabus service to nearby cities, such as Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire, and then use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach the park. If you take a bus to Chippewa Falls, it is about 20 miles from there to the park. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, biking from Chippewa Valley is an option. You can take the Old Abe State Trail from Chippewa Falls which connects to the park. The ride is approximately 25 miles and follows the scenic trail along the Chippewa River, providing a beautiful view of the surrounding nature. Ensure that your bike is in good condition, and pack enough water and snacks for the journey.
