    From the center of Chippewa Valley, head east on Highway 29. Merge onto Highway 53 North toward Eau Claire. Continue on Highway 53 for approximately 13 miles. Take exit 90 toward County Road B/Elk Mound. Turn left onto County Road B and follow it until you reach 857th Street. Turn right onto 857th Street, and the Lower Chippewa River State Natural Area will be on your left within a few minutes.

    Take the Chippewa Valley Transit bus service from downtown Chippewa Falls to Eau Claire. From Eau Claire, transfer to a local bus service heading toward Elk Mound. Get off at the stop nearest to County Road B. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach 857th Street. Once on 857th Street, the Lower Chippewa River State Natural Area will be a short walk away on your left.
