Car
If you are driving from the main entrance of Devil's Lake State Park, head south on County Rd DL. Continue for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with County Rd W. Turn left onto County Rd W and drive approximately 2.5 miles. Pewit's Nest will be on your right, just past the entrance to the Pewit's Nest State Natural Area. There is no entrance fee, but make sure to park in designated areas to avoid fines.
Public Transportation + Walking
Take a local bus or shuttle service to Baraboo, WI. From the Baraboo bus station, you can either schedule a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Pewit's Nest, which is approximately 3 miles away. If you prefer to walk, head south on County Rd W for about 1 hour (3 miles). Be cautious as this route has no sidewalks in certain areas. Once you arrive at Pewit's Nest, enjoy the beautiful nature preserve.
Biking
For those interested in biking, you can rent a bicycle from local rental shops in Baraboo. From Devil's Lake State Park, take the bike path leading towards County Rd W. Follow the bike path for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with County Rd W. Turn left and continue biking for another 2.5 miles. Pewit's Nest will be on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all biking regulations in the area.
