Car
From any location in the Driftless Area, head towards La Crosse, Wisconsin. If you are coming from the east, take US-14 W or I-90 W towards La Crosse. If you're coming from the south or west, follow US-61 N or I-90 E to La Crosse. Once in La Crosse, take the exit for WI-33 W. Continue on WI-33 W until you reach the intersection with Grandad Bluff Rd. Turn left onto Grandad Bluff Rd, and follow the road up the bluff. The park entrance will be on your right at 3020 Grandad Bluff Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601. Parking is available on-site, and is typically free.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, start by taking a local bus service to downtown La Crosse. The Coulee Region Transit operates several routes that connect various locations in the Driftless Area to La Crosse. From downtown, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Grandad Bluff Park, as there are no direct bus services to the park. The address for the park is 3020 Grandad Bluff Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601. Be prepared for taxi or rideshare fees, which may vary based on distance and time of day.
Biking
For those who enjoy biking, bring your bike along as you travel to La Crosse. Once in La Crosse, find the bike trails that lead to the base of Grandad Bluff. You can bike along the riverfront trails or through city streets, following local bike maps. Once you reach the base of Grandad Bluff, you'll need to bike up Grandad Bluff Rd to reach the park. Be aware that there are some steep sections on the road. Ensure your bike is equipped for the climb.
