Start at the downtown area of Eau Claire, specifically at the intersection of S Barstow St and E Grand Ave. Head north on S Barstow St toward E Madison St. Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Chippewa River State Trail. Turn left at the Chippewa River State Trail and follow it for approximately 3 miles. You will pass through scenic trails and parks along the way. After 3 miles, you will reach the junction with US-8. The Wisconsin State Historical Marker 90: Chippewa River & Menomonie Railway is located on the right side of US-8, just off the trail.
