Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start on Great River Road (State Hwy 35) and head south towards La Crosse, WI. Continue on Hwy 35 for approximately 25 miles. When you reach the city of La Crosse, turn left onto W. Main St. After about half a mile, turn right onto Grandad Bluff Rd. Follow this road for about 1 mile, and you will arrive at Grandad Bluff Park, located at 3020 Grandad Bluff Rd, La Crosse, WI 54601. Parking is available at the park entrance.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus to La Crosse. Once in La Crosse, use the local city bus service (La Crosse MTU) to reach Grandad Bluff Park. Bus Route 7 can take you closer to the park. You'll want to get off at the stop nearest to Grandad Bluff Rd, which is about a 15-minute walk from the closest bus stop. Be sure to check the MTU schedule for exact times and routes before your trip. A one-way fare is approximately $1.50.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, you can follow the Great River State Trail if you're near the starting point of the trail in La Crosse. The trail provides scenic views along the Mississippi River. Once you reach La Crosse, you can navigate to Grandad Bluff Park by using local roadways. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws. The distance from downtown La Crosse to the park is about 2 miles.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Grandad Bluff Park, you can walk there from nearby attractions in La Crosse. For example, if you are at Riverside Park, it's about a 30-minute walk to Grandad Bluff Park. Head east on State St, then turn onto Grandad Bluff Rd. Follow the road uphill, and you will reach the park entry. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the route includes some inclines.
