Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling along the Great River Road, get onto WI-82 E in Prairie du Chien. Follow WI-82 E for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with WI-131 N. Take WI-131 N and continue for about 11 miles. The Kickapoo Valley Reserve will be on your left at the address WI-131, La Farge, WI 54639. Look for the entrance sign as you approach.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. However, you can take a bus from larger nearby towns to La Farge. Check local transit schedules for the closest bus stop to your location on Great River Road. Once in La Farge, it's a short taxi ride to the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Be sure to arrange for a taxi in advance as they may not be readily available.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking along the scenic routes of Great River Road is a great way to reach the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. You can cycle along WI-82 or WI-131, which are relatively less trafficked. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water. The total distance is about 31 miles from Prairie du Chien which may take about 2-3 hours depending on your cycling speed.

• Walking

  Walking to the Kickapoo Valley Reserve is not recommended due to the distance involved, as it is approximately 31 miles from Prairie du Chien. If you are staying nearby, local trails may provide access, but plan for a full day and ensure you have the necessary supplies and maps before heading out.
