Car
If you're traveling by car, start on the Ice Age Trail and navigate towards Cross Plains, Wisconsin. Set your GPS to 8075 Old Sauk Pass Rd, Cross Plains, WI 53528. From Madison, take US-12 W. After about 12 miles, take a right onto County Rd KP, then a left onto Old Sauk Pass Rd. Continue for about 1 mile, and you'll see the Cross Plains Interpretive Site on your left. There is no parking fee at the site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Madison to Cross Plains. You can catch a bus at the Madison Bus Station that heads towards Cross Plains. Check the current schedule as bus times may vary. Once you arrive in Cross Plains, you may need to use a rideshare service or taxi to reach the Cross Plains Interpretive Site at 8075 Old Sauk Pass Rd, approximately 3 miles away. Rideshare costs will depend on the distance and time of day.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can ride from nearby towns to Cross Plains. There are bike-friendly roads, but ensure to check local maps for the safest routes. Once you reach Cross Plains, navigate to 8075 Old Sauk Pass Rd. Be prepared for some minor elevation changes. There are bike racks available at the site.
