Car
If you are traveling by car, navigate to W329 N846 County C, Delafield, WI 53018. From Milwaukee, take I-94 W toward Madison. After approximately 25 miles, take exit 294 for WI-83 toward Delafield. Merge onto WI-83 N and continue for about 5 miles. Turn right onto County C, and you will see the entrance to Lapham Peak State Park where the observation tower is located. There is a parking fee of $8 for Wisconsin residents and $11 for non-residents. Be sure to have cash or a credit card available for the parking fee.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Milwaukee to Delafield. Start by taking the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus to the downtown Milwaukee Intermodal Station. From there, take the Greyhound or Indian Trails bus service to Delafield (note that schedules may vary, so check in advance). Once you arrive in Delafield, you will need to use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach Lapham Peak Observation Tower, as public transport options are limited in the area. The rideshare fare may vary but expect to pay around $10-15 for the short drive to the park entrance.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, if you are already in the vicinity of the Ice Age Trail, you can bike your way to Lapham Peak. Follow the Ice Age Trail markers heading towards Delafield. The ride will take you through beautiful landscapes and is approximately 5 miles from the nearest trail access point. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water. Note that there are bike racks available at the observation tower.
