There is no parking fee, but be sure to park in designated areas.

Take the Waukesha Metro Transit bus #1 from downtown Waukesha towards Hartland. This bus runs every hour. Get off at the stop near Capitol Dr & Merton Ave. From there, walk east along Capitol Dr until you reach WI-83 N, then follow the walking directions from the car guidance to reach the Ice Age Trail - Monches Segment. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary.

If you are cycling, start from Hartland's central area and head east on E Capitol Dr. After approximately 1 mile, turn left onto E Lake Dr. The trailhead for the Ice Age Trail - Monches Segment will be about 2 miles down E Lake Dr. There are bike racks available near the trail entrance.

If you are already in Hartland and wish to walk to the Ice Age Trail - Monches Segment, start at the Hartland Village Hall. Head east on E Capitol Dr towards WI-83 N. After about 1 mile, turn left onto E Lake Dr and continue straight for about 2 miles until you reach the trailhead. This is a scenic walk but may take approximately 45-60 minutes.
