Getting There

  • Bus

    From the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on State Street. You can catch the Metro Transit bus Route 6, which travels towards the east side of Madison. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the most current times, as they may vary. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. You will need to get off at the stop at Atwood Ave and Dunning St. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Just head northeast on Atwood Ave, and you will see the entrance to the gardens on your left at 3330 Atwood Ave.

  • Bicycle

    For a more active option, consider renting a bicycle. There are several bike rental locations near the University. Once you have a bike, follow the bike path along University Ave heading east. You will then turn north onto Segoe Rd and continue until you reach Atwood Ave. Take a left on Atwood Ave, and after about a mile, you will find Olbrich Botanical Gardens on your left at 3330 Atwood Ave. The ride should take approximately 15-25 minutes, depending on your speed.

    If you prefer to walk, start from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and head east towards the lake. Follow the path along the shore until you reach John Nolen Dr. Continue east until you reach the intersection with Atwood Ave. Turn left onto Atwood Ave and walk for about 1 mile. After about 20-30 minutes of walking, you will see Olbrich Botanical Gardens on your left at 3330 Atwood Ave. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the walk involves sidewalks and some grass paths.
