From downtown Milwaukee, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Milwaukee County Transit System bus route 33 towards Waukesha. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time. Ride for approximately 30-40 minutes until you reach the Waukesha Transit Center. From there, transfer to the Waukesha Metro bus route 1 towards Main St. Get off at the stop closest to 101 W Main St. The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum will be a short walk away.

Take the Amtrak Hiawatha Service from Milwaukee Intermodal Station to the Waukesha station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Waukesha station, exit and walk north on East Main St for about 10 minutes. The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum will be located at 101 W Main St on your right.

If you're up for a ride, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing services available in Milwaukee. Head west on the Hank Aaron State Trail towards Waukesha. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Main St in Waukesha. Turn left on Main St and continue for a couple of blocks until you reach 101 W Main St, where the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum is located.
