If you're driving, start from the center of Rhinelander, WI. Head north on US-8 W for approximately 10 miles. Then, take a left on WI-47 S and follow it for about 12 miles. Afterward, turn right onto Hanson Lake Rd. Continue on Hanson Lake Rd for 3 miles until you reach the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest entrance. Make sure to keep an eye out for signage indicating the forest entrance.

If you're using public transportation, first take a bus from Rhinelander to Eagle River, which usually requires a transfer. Once in Eagle River, you can check local taxi services or rideshare options to reach the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest entrance on Hanson Lake Rd, which is about a 15-mile drive from Eagle River.
