Walking
Start at the Green River Visitor Center located at 335 W 2nd N St, Green River, WY 82935. From the Visitor Center, head south on 2nd N St, continuing until you reach the intersection with U.S. Route 30. Cross over to the south side of the highway and continue walking along the path that runs parallel to the river. Follow this path until you see the sign for the Launch Site of the Powell Expedition, which is located along the riverbank. This is a historical landmark and offers great views of the Green River.

Rent a bike from a local shop in Green River. Begin your ride at the Green River Recreation Center located at 1775 Hitching Post Dr, Green River, WY 82935. From the Recreation Center, take the bike path south towards the Green River. Follow the path until you reach U.S. Route 30. Cross the road and continue on the bike path along the river. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the Launch Site of the Powell Expedition, which will be on your left as you approach the riverbank.
