Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Laramie, head north on S 2nd St toward E Grand Ave. Continue on S 2nd St for about 0.5 miles until you reach E Ivinson Ave. Turn left onto E Ivinson Ave and walk for about 0.3 miles. At the intersection with N 3rd St, turn right and continue walking for another 0.4 miles. This will take you directly to Snowy Range Rd. Turn left onto Snowy Range Rd and walk approximately 0.7 miles. The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site will be on your left at 975 Snowy Range Rd.

• Public Transit

  From downtown Laramie, you can take the local bus service. Walk to the nearest bus stop on S 2nd St. Board the bus that heads towards the University of Wyoming campus. After a few stops, transfer to the bus line heading to Snowy Range Rd. Ensure you ask the driver to notify you when you reach the stop nearest to 975 Snowy Range Rd. Once you get off the bus, walk about 0.1 miles to your left to reach the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site.

• Biking

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Laramie. Start from downtown and head north on S 2nd St. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto E Ivinson Ave. Continue for 0.3 miles, turn right onto N 3rd St, and bike straight for another 0.4 miles until you reach Snowy Range Rd. Take a left on Snowy Range Rd and bike for approximately 0.7 miles to arrive at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site at 975 Snowy Range Rd.
