Car
If you are traveling by car from Cody, WY, take US-14 W for about 52 miles. After entering Yellowstone National Park, follow the signs to the Old Faithful area. Continue on Grand Loop Rd for about 9 miles until you reach Black Sand Basin. The drive is scenic and offers opportunities to spot wildlife along the way.

If you are coming from Jackson, WY, take US-89 N towards Yellowstone. Enter the park through the South Entrance and follow Grand Loop Rd for about 20 miles to reach Old Faithful. From Old Faithful, it’s a short drive of approximately 2 miles to Black Sand Basin. Make sure to check for park entrance fees which are around $35 for a vehicle.
