Car
If you are starting in the Snowy Range area, head southeast on WY-130 E towards Laramie. Continue on WY-130 E for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with WY-230 S. Take a left on WY-230 S and follow it for about 10 miles. You will then turn right onto Forest Road 317 (also known as the Snowy Range Scenic Byway) which leads you directly to the Crater Lake Trailhead. The trailhead is located at the end of the road, where you will find parking available on-site.

Currently, there are no direct public transportation options to the Crater Lake Trailhead from major cities. However, if you are in Laramie, you can take a Greyhound bus or a local shuttle service to get to Snowy Range. From Snowy Range, you would need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Crater Lake Trailhead, as public transport does not operate directly to trailheads.
