Start at the central market area of Dhamar. From the market, head southwest toward Al-Hayel Street. Continue walking along Al-Hayel Street for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Al-Mahwit Road. At this intersection, turn left onto Al-Mahwit Road. Follow this road for approximately 7 kilometers. You will pass through several small villages and see local shops on either side. After 7 kilometers, you will reach an area called Al-Muwaih. From Al-Muwaih, look for signs or ask locals for directions to جبل الشماحي (Jabal Al-Shamahi), which is located a few kilometers further up the road. The trailhead for the mountain is well-marked and will lead you up to the summit.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Dhamar. Begin your journey from the central square and head toward Al-Hayel Street. Cycle southwest along Al-Hayel Street for about 1 kilometer. When you reach the intersection with Al-Mahwit Road, turn left. Continue biking along Al-Mahwit Road for approximately 7 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. As you arrive in Al-Muwaih, ask locals for the path to جبل الشماحي (Jabal Al-Shamahi). There are bike-friendly trails leading to the base of the mountain.
Public Transport
From your location in Dhamar, locate a local bus or shared taxi heading toward Al-Muwaih. Board the bus or taxi and inform the driver that you wish to go to جبل الشماحي (Jabal Al-Shamahi).
