Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Kasama, the capital of Northern Province. From Central Province, take the T2 road heading north. Once in Kasama, follow the signs to Chishimba Falls. The falls are located approximately 30 kilometers from the center of Kasama. You can take the Sanga Road which leads directly to the falls area. Make sure to have GPS or a reliable map app to assist you, as some local signages may not be clear.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Lusaka to Kasama. The bus ride may take around 12 to 15 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Once in Kasama, you can take a taxi or a local minibus heading towards Chishimba Falls. The fare for a minibus should be around ZMW 20-30. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they can take you to the falls, as not all minibuses may go directly there.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, you can cycle to Chishimba Falls. Starting from Kasama, it’s approximately a 30-kilometer ride. The route is relatively flat, but be prepared for some rough patches. Make sure to carry water and snacks, and consider starting early in the day to avoid the midday heat.

• Walking

  If you are staying close to Chishimba Falls or enjoy long walks, you can walk from Kasama. The trek will be around 30 kilometers and will take several hours. Ensure you have proper walking shoes, water, and maybe a walking stick. It’s advisable to start early to make the most of the daylight.
