Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, the most common route to Ntumbachushi Falls is to start from the nearest major town, which is Kabwe. From Kabwe, take the Great North Road (A1) heading towards Ndola. After approximately 50 km, look for signs to turn onto the Luanshya Road (A11). Continue on A11 for about 70 km until you reach the junction for the Mufulira Road. Take the Mufulira Road and follow it for about 20 km until you reach the turn-off for Ntumbachushi Falls. The last part of the journey may involve some unpaved roads, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Ensure you have a GPS device or a reliable map, as signage may be limited. Additionally, be prepared for potential entrance fees at the falls, which may vary.

• Public Transport

  For those using public transport, start your journey in Kabwe by taking a bus or minibus heading towards Ndola. Make sure to inform the driver that you need to stop at the junction for the Luanshya Road (A11). Once you arrive at the junction, you may need to wait for a passing taxi or a minibus heading towards Mufulira. Once you reach Mufulira, you will need to take another taxi or arrange a lift to the Ntumbachushi Falls entrance. Be aware that public transport may not run frequently, especially on weekends, so plan accordingly. Entrance fees may also apply, so bring some cash.

• Walking/Hiking

  If you are adventurous and already close to the falls, you can opt for a walking or hiking path. Make sure to start early in the day to avoid getting lost or returning after dark. From the nearest road, look for local trails that lead towards the falls. It's advisable to go with a local guide or at least inform someone of your plans, as paths can be tricky and the terrain rugged. Bring enough water and snacks, as there are no facilities near the falls.
