Walking
Start from the central market area in Chipata. Head southeast on Mchenga Street towards the Chipata Central Police Station. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the main road (Great East Road). Cross the road carefully and continue on the path that leads to the Nkhuzyeni waterfront area. As you walk, you can ask locals for directions; they are generally very helpful. After about 15-20 minutes, you will see the Nkhuzyeni waterfront, which is located at the coordinates 8JFC+27C.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Chipata. Start at the Chipata Central Market and cycle towards Mchenga Street. Keep cycling straight until you reach the Great East Road junction. You will need to navigate carefully as the traffic can be busy. Once you cross the road, continue cycling straight towards Nkhuzyeni waterfront. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your speed. The waterfront will be on your left as you approach the coordinates 8JFC+27C.
Public Transport (Minibus)
From the central market, take a minibus heading towards the direction of the Great East Road. Inform the conductor that you want to get off near Nkhuzyeni waterfront. The minibus should drop you off close to the Great East Road junction. Once you get off, walk in the direction of Nkhuzyeni waterfront, which is a short 5-10 minute walk from the drop-off point at coordinates 8JFC+27C.
