Getting There

  • Car

    Start your journey from Kalambo Falls. Head south on the main road towards Chalumba. Continue driving for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the intersection near Chalumba. Look for the sign that points towards Matupa Hill. Turn right at this intersection and drive for another 5 kilometers. You will see Matupa Hill on your left side. There is a small parking area where you can leave your car.

  • Public Transportation

    From Kalambo Falls, you will need to catch a minibus heading towards Chalumba. The minibuses generally depart from the main bus station and operate frequently. The fare is approximately ZMW 10-20. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Chalumba. Once you reach Chalumba, ask locals for directions to Matupa Hill, which is about 5 kilometers away. You may need to hire a bicycle taxi (locally known as a 'kabaza') to take you the remaining distance, which should cost around ZMW 30-50.

  • Walking

    If you are feeling adventurous and the weather permits, you can walk from Chalumba to Matupa Hill. After arriving in Chalumba via minibus, head west along the main road leading out of the village. The distance to Matupa Hill is about 5 kilometers.
