Experience Mokřady Bangweulu

Getting There

  • Car

    From Kasanka Bat Forest, head east on the main road (M1) towards Mpika. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the junction where you will turn left onto the road leading to the Bangweulu Wetlands. Continue on this road for about 50 kilometers, passing through small villages. Follow the signs to Mokřady Bangweulu. The total drive should take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions.

  • Public Transportation

    From Kasanka Bat Forest, you can catch a minibus to Mpika at the nearest bus stop. The fare is usually around ZMW 30. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once in Mpika, look for another minibus heading to the Bangweulu Wetlands. The fare for this leg is about ZMW 40, and it will take an additional hour to reach the wetlands. Be sure to inform the driver that you need to stop at Mokřady Bangweulu.
