From Lake Kariba, head south toward the town of Siavonga. Follow the main road until you reach the junction leading to the Lusaka-Chirundu Road (A1). Turn left onto the A1. Continue driving for approximately 120 kilometers. Watch for signs indicating Choma. As you approach Choma, look out for the turnoff to Kalomo, which is approximately 30 kilometers west of Choma. Follow the signs to Kalomo and you will arrive at your destination.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Kalomo from Lake Kariba by bus, start by traveling to Siavonga. You can take a local bus or shared taxi from your location in Lake Kariba to Siavonga. Once you arrive in Siavonga, head to the bus station and find a bus heading to Choma. The fare is typically around 50 ZMW. After arriving in Choma, you will need to catch another bus heading to Kalomo, which is about 30 kilometers away. The fare for this leg is approximately 30 ZMW. Confirm with the bus driver or company for the exact drop-off point in Kalomo.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
If you prefer a more direct route to Kalomo, you can hire a taxi or use a ride-hailing service from your location in Lake Kariba. This option is more expensive but offers convenience. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it could range from 1000 ZMW to 1500 ZMW depending on your starting point and the distance.
