If you are driving from one of the main lodges or hotels in Lake Kariba, head west toward the Mlibizi Road. Follow the road signs leading to the Lower Zambezi. Continue on this road for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the junction for the Mukuvisi River. Turn right and follow the signs toward Mukalya Private Game Reserve. The journey should take around an hour, depending on road conditions. Be aware that some sections may be unpaved, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a local minibus from your accommodation to the nearest bus terminal in Lake Kariba. Once at the terminal, look for a bus heading towards Lower Zambezi. It is advisable to ask locals or the bus driver for the stop nearest to Mukalya Private Game Reserve. After you disembark, you may need to hire a taxi or motorcycle taxi for the remaining distance to the reserve, which could be around 10 kilometers. Ensure you confirm the fare beforehand, as it usually costs between ZMW 50-100.
