21 Days Safari Adventure Explore Zambia National Parks

In August 2026 I spent 3 weeks on a Lodge Safari in Zambia with Andrew and Moses from Exploration Africa Wildlife and Safaris. My husband and I previously had the pleasure of being guided by them both for 2 weeks in 2023 through Zambia and enjoyed their knowledge, skills, experience, professionalism and company so much I arranged for them to show me more of their country. This time I travelled with a girlfriend. Andrew and Moses were waiting for us at Livingstone Airport and for the next 3 weeks we covered Victoria Falls, Lusaka, Mkushi, Kasanka National Park, Bangweulu Swamp, Mutindondo Wilderness Park, Kapisha, North Luangwa National Park, and the Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa National Park. We had many game drives and game walks in the National Parks, lucky to see the shoebill stork at Bangweulu, waterfalls in Mutinondo, hot springs at Kapisha, and numerous animals along with wild dogs, leopards, lions, elephants, hippos, hyenas, various antelope and the amazing birds of Africa. I suggested the lodges where I wanted to stay on the safari and Andrew booked all the accommodation on our behalf. We stayed at a variety of lodges which were all unique and fantastic. We had a mixture of eating at the lodges or having Andrew and Moses providing our meals. They are excellent chefs and the meals they produced for us were amazing. This gave us a chance to taste the local Zambian food. They have a lot of contacts so much so that Kasanka National Park and Lodge were closed due to administrative reasons just before we were due to stay there. Andrew arranged for not only to get us into the park but staff to attend to the room, hot water to be available and Andrew and Moses took over the cooking facilities. We had the whole park and lodge to ourselves for 3 days with plenty of game viewing, walks and some amazing meals. We achieved all that was in the itinerary and so much more. There were always surprises that were added to the itinerary which made our safari even so much more than we were expecting. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure we were always having a great time. They are very proud of their country and we enjoyed learning about Zambia with the knowledge they imparted to us. They are very careful drivers considering the number of trucks that are on the roads along with the potholes and unmade roads. Their vehicle is high off the ground but once inside you have a wonderful view of the passing countryside and villages. If you want to experience the best safari in Zambia I have no hesitation in recommending Andrew and Moses. You will not regret it.

If you want to see animals this is the trip for you! My friend and I saw elephants and hippos come into Mwamfushi Safari Lodge to eat almost nightly. The signs posted were definitely not kidding. They said to be cautious of the hippos and at night the staff tell you to whistle them if you need to walk anywhere but best to stay inside at night because the large animals come into camp at night. Accomodations are decent. Not luxurious but clean and rustic feeling. The staff are very nice and helpful at camp. What impressed me the most was our amazing tour guide Brown and our driver Alick. They were very knowledgable of the area and also about the animals. Alick worked very hard to try to find and track the animals we were hoping to see. Brown was quick to point out each animal we saw and tell us about them. We were lucky enough to notice these lions and were able to get close up and personal. It was amazing to see them right outside our vehicle. Wow!!! I also have to mention Mark who is the director of these tours for the company. He made sure we had an air conditioned vehicle for the game drive which was so nice to be in because it was hot! On top of that there were so many tsetse flies and when they sting it hurts! So we were even more thankful that we were in an enclosed vehicle. Mark also recommended that we upgrade our living accomodations because he wanted us to be happy with our tour. We were supposed to be in a tent but he recommended that we upgrade to a chalet with our own bathroom. We were super happy we took his recommendation and upgraded. It was a lifesaver to have our own bathroom and to be able to have a fan in our room. If you have any reservations about booking this trip, you do not need to.
